Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving this year was different than any Thanksgiving we have ever had! We invited our neighbors, the Wolsey's over and we were so excited!
We kind of forgot that the grocery store closes on Friday night at sunset till Saturday at sunset again so after sunset we headed to the store to buy everything we needed for our feast the next day!
We were in luck, the store had everything we needed. We have a crock-pot so we thought we would just slow cook our little turkey up all day and it would be delicious! We get to the check out and they wouldn't let us buy our turkey. She said there was no price tag on it and couldn't sell it to us. We said how much per pound the other turkeys were going for but that didn't matter. There were no other small turkeys with a price tag that would fit into our crock-pot so we were out of luck. We decided to drive around to all the other little Chinese stores around and see if anyone else had a turkey for sale. Nobody had one. I was so sad!! So then I remembered a family here saying they had a saw that they used to cut their goat up so we thought we would go ahead and buy the bigger turkey and then see if they wouldn't mind sawing it up for us! On our way to their house Caleb was sitting on my lap in the front seat and Liam was up in the back window eating a sucker and making a sticky mess and it was probably the strangest thing that has happened since we got here that I couldn't help but laugh.
We were able to cook up a nice turkey and have a grand ol feast! We had turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, veggies, and Kayleigh made yummy buns and pumpkin pie.  I was a little nervous about the whole thing especially since their little girl Remy has allergies to eggs and milk and other things and we didn't want her to get sick!! But I think the night was a success!
I failed to take a picture of everything that night but we had a lovely time with them. They have been here a year longer than us and they said the never thought they would be eating a turkey in Statia! I am SO glad that it turned out and tasted good. There are rumors around saying that the stores unplug their freezers at night to save money.... but I dont believe it for a second. Nothing would be good and would make you VERY sick. We eat everything here and find everything to be great. Sometimes the chicken is a bit tough but if you slow cook it up it tastes really good!
After we got the kids in bed we went over and enjoyed a movie at their place! It was a lovely day!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING1

The next day we of course had leftovers and Liam was probably the happiest of all. He LOVES mashed potatoes. He would just sit and eat them and keep asking for more all night. He went a little crazy and decided it was okay to eat with his hands!
Digging in!
Feeding Caleb some of his own food!
Got his little tongue sticking out!
Grabbing the spoon trying to feed himself already! Such a big boy!
Cutie boy
My goofy boy wanting a turn in the bumbo!
His bottom got stuck!
Eating some more!
This was a couple days earlier and was Calebs first time eating real food! It was a success! I think he really liked it! I can't believe my little baby is already big enough for Solids!
